Local identity + saved history
Connect browsing sessions and associated accounts using a local identifier. Server-side offer history keeps earlier discount use available for the next eligibility check.
Friction LimitDISCOUNT ABUSE PREVENTION FOR SHOPIFY
Catch repeat discount use while the shopper is still checking out. Friction Limit connects sessions, phone numbers, and account addresses in real time, so an ineligible discount can be rejected before the order is placed.
WELCOME20Not applied
This welcome offer has already been used. You can continue without the discount.
The discount decision happens before the order.
The problem
You plan the offer, promote it, and give up margin to encourage a purchase. When a returning shopper claims it again through another email or account, you can pay for the same incentive twice.
Real-time matching on every plan
As the shopper browses, Limit connects available session and account details with server-side discount history. When those signals establish repeat use, the rule is enforced at checkout before payment.
Connect browsing sessions and associated accounts using a local identifier. Server-side offer history keeps earlier discount use available for the next eligibility check.
Match the same phone number one to one across available account information. A different email can still connect to an earlier use of the offer.
Connect similar account addresses even when the wording varies. Use that association alongside session and offer history to assess repeat use.
Basic, Growth, and Scale use these matching methods. Advanced adds device fingerprinting for deeper recognition.
The moment matters
A completed order creates an expectation. Addressing repeat promo use before payment gives the shopper a clear choice: continue at the updated total, without a cancellation or refund conversation later.
The customer has already paid. A follow-up can create extra work and put the sale at risk.
Protect the discount while keeping the purchase possible. Some shoppers continue; others may leave.
Enforce before payment
Blocking Mode applies your rule in real time. If you want to understand the pattern first, choose Shadow Mode to observe without rejecting the discount.
When repeat use is recognized and Shopify permits rejection, the protected discount is removed. The shopper can still purchase.

Your offers. Your rules.
Keep a welcome offer for its intended audience, or share one allowance across related promotional codes. These controls are included in every plan.
Later, the same code is checked against its earlier use.
Later, a different family code is checked against the same campaign allowance.
Group 2 - 10 related codes in a family. Limit applies the allowance; it does not create the underlying discounts or synchronize their values.
Choose the timing
Choose a reuse window that fits your campaign, or keep the rule indefinite while protection remains active. Eligible reuse is checked against the shopper’s recorded offer history.
Simple pricing. Real-time protection.
Start with a monthly plan based on orders. Choose Advanced for deeper device recognition, priced entirely on visits.

Product questions
Limit checks available identity signals and earlier offer use while the shopper browses, then rejects an ineligible protected discount at checkout before payment. The shopper sees your message and can still complete the purchase at the updated total. You can address repeat promo use without first accepting the order and then cancelling, refunding, or requesting extra verification.
Every plan combines local identifier-based session and account association, server-side offer history, exact one-to-one phone number matching, and fuzzy account address matching. Similar addresses can be associated even when their wording varies. Available matches help establish earlier use of a protected offer in real time. Advanced also includes device fingerprinting.
Basic is $19/month for up to 2,000 monthly store orders. Growth is $39/month for up to 5,000. Scale is $59/month for unlimited orders. All three include the same session, phone, and address matching, real-time enforcement, and offer controls. Their pricing is based on orders, with no visitor charges.
Advanced adds device fingerprinting to all the matching methods and enforcement controls included in Basic, Growth, and Scale. It is a standalone usage plan at $4 per 1,000 monthly visits, with no base fee or minimum. You pay the Advanced usage fee instead of an order-plan subscription. Usage is proportional: 500 visits cost $2; 25,000 visits cost $100. A visit is a 30-minute visitor window, so a returning shopper can count again later.
Advanced uses device fingerprinting to help recognize the same device in private or incognito sessions and after browser history, cookies, or local data have been cleared. It connects recognized returns to server-side offer history over months, within the configured reuse rule. Recognition depends on available device signals; it is not a guarantee that every shopper or device will be matched.
Yes. On every plan, group two to ten related codes into a campaign family. Using one offer counts toward the family's shared reuse rule. Individual codes can also have their own rules. Limit applies eligibility rules; you create and manage the underlying discounts in Shopify.
Yes. Choose a whole-day reuse period from 1 to 3,650 days, or choose Indefinite for one use while the rule remains active and Limit remains installed. A rolling reuse window starts after a completed use of the protected offer. Enforcement requires a recognized association with that earlier use.
No. Blocking Mode rejects a supported protected discount before payment when repeat use is established. The shopper sees your chosen message and can continue at the updated total. Limit does not automatically cancel or refund an order. Some shoppers may choose not to complete the purchase.
